Court Rules Business Objects Misappropriated Trade Secrets, But Clears Company Of Patent Infringement Claim

Law360, New York (August 11, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A U.S. federal court issued has found that a Business Objects employee misappropriated trade secrets from rival MicroStrategy, but in a separate case the court rejected a complaint that Business Objects had infringed on one of MicroStrategy’s patents.

Business Objects said in a statement that the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia ruled in its favor on two claims made by MicroStrategy, although a representative for MicroStrategy disputed this interpretation of one of the rulings.
