Kirkland & Ellis Faces Racial Discrimination Suits

Law360, New York (February 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two former employees of Kirkland & Ellis and a job applicant have filed lawsuits alleging the firm discriminated against them because they were black or spoke about racial discrimination at the firm.

The suits, filed February 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, each ask for compensatory and punitive damages, the costs of the suit and attorneys’ fees. The suits allege employment discrimination on account of race and disparate treatment on account of race.
