Merck Vaccine Sparks Lawsuit

Law360, New York (February 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Gardasil, Merck & Co.’s controversial cervical cancer drug, is at the center of a lawsuit brought by Texas parents who do not want their daughters to be subjected to state-ordered vaccination.

The parents of three Texas girls shot off a suit in the Travis County Court of Texas on Friday. They hope to stop Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s executive order mandating that all girls entering the sixth grade beginning in September 2008 receive a Gardasil vaccination.
