Apple Strikes Deal In Typhoon Touch-Screen IP Spat

Law360 (September 15, 2010, 7:24 PM EDT) -- Apple Inc. has reached a settlement with Typhoon Touch Technologies Inc. in a patent infringement suit against a who's who of the computing world.

Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday dismissed Apple from the case following a joint statement of settlement filed Sept. 8.

Further details on the agreement were not available, and attorneys for Typhoon and Apple did not immediately return calls seeking comment Wednesday.

Typhoon filed its suit in December 2007, alleging that several touch-screen devices produced by the defendants, including Apple's iPhone, infringed two patents.
