Farmers Ducks Some Liability In Car Value Loss Suit

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 7:05 PM EDT) -- A policyholder and Farmers Insurance Co. of Washington have each won partial victories in a putative class action seeking to force the insurer to pay up for diminished value loss for automobiles involved in accidents.

Ruling for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington on Tuesday, Judge James L. Robart granted the portion of the plaintiff's motion for summary judgment that the insurer's policy provides for coverage for diminished value loss in vehicles that have been in collisions.
