Okla. Gas Royalty Owners Seek Cert. In BP Action

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 3:53 PM EDT) -- Owners of royalties in 28 Oklahoma gas wells have asked to be certified as a class in a suit accusing a BP PLC unit of skimping on royalties by forging invalid contracts with its own affiliates.

Putative lead plaintiff Billy B. Tucker on Tuesday asked the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma to certify a class that includes anyone who may have been cheated out of royalties by BP America Production Co., the energy giant's U.S. exploration arm, between 2001 and 2008....
