Wells Fargo Again Fends Off Baltimore Subprime Suit

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 2:14 PM EDT) -- The city of Baltimore's lawsuit seeking to hold subprime mortgage lender Wells Fargo Bank NA liable for urban blight has been dismissed for the second time, though a federal judge reluctantly allowed the city to file another amended complaint.

Judge J. Frederick Motz of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland issued the ruling Tuesday, saying the city would have to further narrow the scope of its complaint. He also cautioned that any potential damages arising from the suit would likely be small....
