POM Sues FTC Over Deceptive Advertising Standard

Law360, New York (September 15, 2010, 11:51 AM EDT) -- Pom Wonderful LLC has filed a lawsuit challenging the Federal Trade Commission's new standards for evaluating health-based advertising claims, arguing that it violates the juice maker's free speech rights.

The complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, claims the measures contradict more than 20 years of FTC food advertising rules and regulations as well as the First and Fifth Amendments.
