AEP Off Hook In Natural Gas Price-Fixing Suit

Law360, New York (September 16, 2010, 4:28 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has tossed an antitrust suit against American Electric Power Co. Inc., ruling that the statute of limitations has passed in a suit alleging the power giant conspired to artificially inflate prices through trading activities.

Judge Michael H. Watson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio ruled Wednesday that the plaintiffs — a consortium of Wisconsin companies that includes cheesemaker Sargento Foods Inc., printing company Arandell Corp. and metalworking firm Ladish Co. Inc. — could not use the "discovery rule"...
