Whistleblower Program Needs More Oversight: GAO

Law360, New York (September 17, 2010, 3:10 PM EDT) -- Congress' independent watchdog has told lawmakers that the nation's whistleblower protection program needs better oversight of training for its investigators and a more detailed tracking of its expenses, according to a report made public Thursday.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office recommended that the Department of Labor do more to ensure investigators completed mandatory training programs and that it require their supervisors to complete the same training.
