Wal-Mart, Autozone Off Hook In Auto Parts Price Spat

Law360, New York (September 17, 2010, 4:42 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a price discrimination suit that a group of independent auto parts sellers and distributors brought against Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Autozone Inc. and a slew of other parts makers and retailers, giving the plaintiffs 30 days to propose an amended complaint.

Judge Richard J. Holwell issued his memorandum opinion and order in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Thursday, determining that the plaintiffs had failed to state a claim under the Robinson-Patman Act.
