Heinz Wins Review Of Duties On Gluten-Free Pasta

Law360, New York (September 17, 2010, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce on Friday granted H.J. Heinz Co.’s request to consider partially revoking countervailing duties on gluten-free pasta from Italy.

Commerce said in a Federal Register notice that “changed circumstances” warranted a review of the order to see how it applied to Heinz, which imports the products from Italy.

The duties, which have been in effect since 1996, apply to “nonegg dry pasta in packages of five pounds four ounces or less” that is typically sold in retail settings.
