Judge Boots Nero Antitrust Suit Over MPEG Patents

Law360, New York (September 20, 2010, 1:48 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has thrown out Nero AG's suit alleging anti-competitive conduct in MPEG LA LLC’s licensing of patent pools related to industry standards for consumer electronics, but left the door open for an amended complaint.

Nero has failed to state a claim on which relief can be granted, Judge Mariana R. Pfaelzer of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California ruled Sept. 14.
