ITC Judge Finds Vizio, AmTran Infringed LG Patent

By Ryan Davis (September 17, 2010, 6:42 PM EDT) -- A U.S. International Trade Commission judge has ruled that Vizio Inc. and AmTran Technology Co. Ltd. have imported LCD and plasma flat-screen televisions into the U.S. that infringe one patent held by LG Electronics Inc.

Administrative Law Judge E. James Gildea issued his initial determination in the case on Friday, also finding that Vizio had not infringed three other patents asserted by LG.

Only a few pages of the judge's ruling were made public. The several hundred remaining pages of his decision will not be made public until the parties have submitted proposed redactions, he said.
