Commerce Shrinks Duties For Chinese Pipe

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 1:33 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has drastically reduced anti-dumping duties for light-walled rectangular pipe and tube from China, following a federal appeals court ruling that faulted the agency’s valuation of Chinese labor in another case.

Commerce’s International Trade Administration published the final results of the 2008-2009 anti-dumping review in the Federal Register on Tuesday, assigning sole respondent The Sun Group Inc. a weighted-average margin of 27.12 percent, down dramatically from the 219 percent rate initially assessed.
