Experian To Pay $207M For US Credit Monitoring Firm

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 1:58 PM EDT) -- British credit information giant Experian PLC has reached an agreement to acquire online consumer credit monitoring provider Mighty Net Inc. in a $207.5 million transaction Experian says will further consolidate its position in the U.S. consumer market.

Announcing the deal Tuesday, Experian — which operates the FreeCreditReport.com website and other U.S. credit monitoring websites — said it expects to use its own experience with U.S. consumers to increase revenue per Mighty Net customer.
