LA Suburb Officials Booked In $5.5M Corruption Probe

Law360, New York (September 21, 2010, 5:51 PM EDT) -- The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office arrested the ex-city manager, mayor and six other officials of an L.A. suburb on Tuesday as part of an ongoing corruption probe into the alleged misappropriation of more than $5.5. million.

Former Bell, Calif., City Manager Robert Rizzo and Mayor Oscar Hernandez were taken into custody along with several former and current City Council members on charges they made illegal personal loans and paid themselves for meetings that never took place, the district attorney's office said.
