Senate Approves 1-Year Flood Insurance Extension

Law360, New York (September 22, 2010, 1:07 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate passed legislation authorizing a one-year extension of the National Flood Insurance Program, sending the bill to the U.S. House of Representatives for approval in hopes of averting yet another NFIP expiration scheduled for Sept. 30.

S. 3814, the National Flood Insurance Program Re-extension Act of 2010, which would extend the NFIP until Sept. 30, 2011, was introduced and passed unanimously in the Senate late Tuesday.
