WTO Holds Off On Airbus Appeal Ruling

Law360, New York (September 22, 2010, 4:22 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization will reportedly delay until next year any ruling on an appeal of its June order that billions of dollars in government subsidies paid to aircraft giant Airbus SAS were inconsistent with WTO rules.

WTO appellate judges indicated Wednesday in a note circulated to WTO members and obtained by Reuters that the complexity of the six-year-old case had caused the judges to miss the usual deadline of issuing a verdict within 60 days of an appeal. The European Union filed its appeal July...
