Obama Names Acting GAO Head To Full Role

Law360, New York (September 22, 2010, 6:57 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama said Wednesday he had tapped the acting head of the U.S. Government Accountability Office, Gene L. Dodaro, to serve a term as U.S. comptroller general and head of the agency.

Dodaro, a 37-year veteran of the GAO, has been acting head of the agency since March 2008, when the position was vacated by David M. Walker.

If his nomination is given the green light by the U.S. Senate, Dodaro will serve a 15-year term in his role as comptroller general.
