MGA Ordered To Cough Up E-Mails In Bratz IP Spat

Law360, New York (September 23, 2010, 12:26 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has ordered MGA Entertainment Inc. to give Barbie maker Mattel Inc. certain internal e-mails in a long-running intellectual property dispute over MGA's successful Bratz dolls.

Judge David O. Carter of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Wednesday granted in part Mattel's request for the e-mails. He ruled MGA waived attorney-client privilege to the e-mails earlier in the case, requiring the company to disclose them to Mattel.
