Whirlpool Can't Block Docs In LG Steam-Dryer Spat

Law360, New York (September 24, 2010, 4:55 PM EDT) -- Whirlpool Corp. has lost a bid to block LG Electronics USA Inc. from using consumer survey documents in an upcoming trial over whether Whirlpool's false advertising for steam-powered dryers hurt sales of LG's products.

Judge Amy St. Eve on Friday denied Whirlpool's motion to exclude the evidence — customer feedback forms collected by third-party salespeople and compiled into a report by a Whirlpool employee — as the case proceeds in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
