Calif. Passes 33% Green Energy Rule

Law360, New York (September 24, 2010, 3:26 PM EDT) -- California regulators have given the green light to an aggressive renewable energy standard that will require one-third of electricity sold in the state in 2020 to come from wind, solar and other renewable sources.

The measure, adopted unanimously Thursday by the state’s Air Resources Board, comes as part of California’s landmark climate change program that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.
