Target Ordered To Stop Dumping Toxic Waste In Calif.

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 6:20 PM EDT) -- A California judge has issued an injunction against Target Corp., saying the state is likely to prevail in a suit accusing the retailer of illegally dumping hazardous waste and corrosive chemicals.

Judge Steven A. Brick of the Alameda County Superior Court on Friday ordered Target not to dispose of toxic substances in the store's trash compactors, local landfills or other facilities ill-equipped to take on hazardous waste.
