Smarties Maker, Amazon Settle Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 2:43 PM EDT) -- Inc. has settled a trademark infringement suit brought by the maker of Smarties candies over the online retail giant’s importation of chocolate candy sold under the same name in other parts of the world.

Judge William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Monday dismissed the case with prejudice, based on a stipulation filed by Ce De Candy Inc. and Amazon five days earlier.
