EEOC Sues Care Provider Over Client's Sex Harassment

Law360, New York (September 28, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued a Houston-based home health care provider, alleging the company failed to protect female caregivers from sexual harassment at the hands of a patient.

The EEOC alleges Beacon Hill Investments Corp., which does business as Synergy Home Care, violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by subjecting female employees to discriminatory treatment because of their gender, according to a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
