China Partly Resumes Earth Metal Exports To Japan

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 3:07 PM EDT) -- China's trade ministry has reportedly partially restored exports of valuable rare earth metals to Japan following its ban on the shipments in retaliation for Japan's detention of a Chinese fishing boat captain, whom the country released Friday.

Chinese custom authorities confirmed Wednesday they had restarted applications for the exports and that cargo would be shipped once applicable procedures have been completed, according to the Japan Times.
