Senate Approves Ban On Animal ‘Crush’ Videos

Law360, New York (September 29, 2010, 4:08 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate has given the stamp of approval to legislation that would make it illegal to make or sell animal “crush” videos, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling earlier this year striking down a Clinton-era law banning the sale of depictions of animal cruelty.

The Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010 was unanimously approved by the Senate late Tuesday in the form of a substitute amendment to a companion bill in the U.S. House of Representatives.
