AG Probes Hospital Security Breach

Law360 (March 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Rhode Island Attorney General is investigating who posted detailed medical records of over 2,000 patients at the Westerly Hospital on the Internet.

On Monday, AG Patrick Lynch revealed that he would examine whether officials at the hospital were aware of the security breach before a patient called the police.

"That's always an important consideration and an obvious question when one of these breaches occurs," said Michael Healey, a spokesman for the Attorney General, to the Westerly Sun.
