Judge Says USDA Likely To Lose Beet Approval Row

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 3:09 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has determined that conservation and consumer groups suing the U.S. Department of Agriculture for permitting Monsanto Co. and two other major seed companies to plant genetically modified sugar beets are likely to prove that the agency violated the National Environmental Policy Act by not studying the environmental implications of the approval.
