ConAgra Faces False Marking Suit Over Popcorn

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 2:19 PM EDT) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. has been hit with a lawsuit that accuses the company of marking its microwave popcorn products with an expired patent.

Texas-based Main Hastings LLC filed suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, alleging the packaged foods powerhouse has deliberately deceived the public and stifled competition by marking its Act II microwave popcorn with U.S. Patent Number 4,571,337, which expired in May 2004.
