Vivendi Withdraws IP Spat Over Music On Ellen Show

Law360, New York (October 1, 2010, 5:31 PM EDT) -- A copyright infringement battle between Time Warner Inc. and three major record labels that accused the production giant of playing well over 1,000 of their songs on the Ellen DeGeneres show without obtaining appropriate licenses has been withdrawn without prejudice.

The joint notice of withdrawal, entered Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, follows another joint request in August that the case be transferred to binding arbitration.
