3rd Circ. OKs $6.5M In Attys' Fees In Veritas Fraud Deal

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 3:37 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a $6.5 million fee award out of a $21.5 million settlement for lawyers who represented shareholders who alleged that Veritas Software Corp. and some of its officers artificially inflated the price of its securities.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit ruled Monday that a lower court did not abuse its discretion by approving a 30 percent fee out of the $21.5 million deal for co-lead plaintiffs' counsel Harwood Feffer LLP, Labaton Sucharow LLP and Izard Nobel LLP....
