Dartmouth Settles To Avoid VA Hospital Contracts Spat

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 2:52 PM EDT) -- Dartmouth College has agreed to shell out $275,00 to settle allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by improperly executing six fixed-price contracts with a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Vermont.

The settlement agreement puts to bed “potential civil claims” against the Hanover, N.H.-based school, with Dartmouth denying all liability, U.S. Attorney for the District of Vermont Tristram Coffin announced Monday.
