Del. Judge Refuses To Block $943M 3M-Cogent Deal

Law360, New York (October 6, 2010, 3:33 PM EDT) -- A Delaware judge has rejected a bid by a proposed class of Cogent Inc. shareholders for a preliminary injunction against 3M Co.'s proposed $943 million acquisition of the biometrics company.

Vice Chancellor Donald F. Parsons Jr. of the Court of Chancery of the State of Delaware denied a motion to block the proposed acquisition Tuesday, ruling that the plaintiffs had not shown a reasonable probability that the allegations could succeed on the merits.
