Securities Atty Gets 22 Years For $20M Scheme

Law360, New York (October 7, 2010, 12:43 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has sentenced Florida securities attorney Delmer C. Gowing III to 22 years in prison for his alleged role in a former client's fraudulent advance-fee scheme that duped investors out of more than $20 million.

Judge George B. Daniels of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York imposed the sentence on Gowing Wednesday, calling the scheme “nothing short of diabolical.”
