Hollister Targets Rivals Over Catheter Device Patent

Law360, New York (October 8, 2010, 1:23 PM EDT) -- Medical device maker Hollister Inc. has launched a pair of suits accusing two competitors of infringing a patent for a catheter system used in the treatment of critically ill patients.

The Libertyville, Ill.-based manufacturer claims that C.R. Bard Inc. and ConvaTec Inc. produce bowel management systems that infringe at least one claim of U.S. Patent Number 7,722,583, according to separate complaints filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
