Purdue Sues Hospira To Block New Version Of Dilaudid

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 12:56 PM EDT) -- Purdue Pharma Products LP has filed suit against Hospira Inc., alleging the rival drugmaker’s application to make its own version of Dilaudid would infringe a patent covering the prescription painkiller.

Purdue lodged a complaint Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois seeking to prevent Hospira from marketing an injectable form of the drug.

The complaint was filed by Gregory J. Vogler, John L. Abramic and Kevin A. O’Connor of McAndrews Held & Malloy Ltd.
