Pfizer To Pay $3.8M Over Girl's Death In Dilantin Suit

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 5:44 PM EDT) -- Pfizer Inc. has agreed to pay $3.78 million to settle a suit over the death of a 9-year-old girl who developed a fatal skin disease after taking the anti-seizure drug Dilantin and anti-fungal medication Flagyl.

Judge Judith J. Gische of the New York Supreme Court on Friday signed off on the settlement, which requires Pfizer to pay about $2 million to plaintiffs' firm Jensen Belew & Gonzalez PLLC and the remainder to the girl's parents.
