SEC Probes E.ON Over Accounting

Law360, New York (March 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has launched an investigation into German energy firm E.ON AG over its accounting practices between 2000 and 2003, according the company’s recent 20-F filing with the agency.

Existence of the investigation was revealed in E.ON’s annual report with the SEC, in which the Düsseldorf-based company said the agency had requested information on a range of accounting issues.

The release didn’t say when the investigation began, but E.ON said it's working with the agency as the probe unfolds.
