WTO Refers US-Mexico Steel Dumping Spat To Panel

Law360, New York (October 12, 2010, 1:47 PM EDT) -- The World Trade Organization has agreed to refer Mexico's challenge to the U.S. government's methodology for calculating dumping margins on its stainless steel imports to a dispute settlement panel.

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced in a notice published in Tuesday's Federal Register that the WTO had granted Mexico's request for a panel hearing to consider if the U.S. government has breached its WTO obligations by continuing to use simple zeroing in calculating the disputed anti-dumping duties.
