Hines Nurseries Ducks Into Bankruptcy For 2nd Time

Law360, New York (October 13, 2010, 5:43 PM EDT) -- Hines Nurseries LLC, one of the country's largest nurseries, has filed for bankruptcy protection, blaming pricing pressure and sluggish home building for reduced revenues for its second trip to Chapter 11.

Hines, a nursery operator for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Lowe's Cos. and Home Depot Inc., was forced to file for bankruptcy on Tuesday after failing to secure a line of credit that would have kept it and its affiliate, Consolidated Horticulture Group LLC, afloat.
