Settlement Ends Protest Of M&M Corp.-Emera Merger

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 12:43 PM EDT) -- Maine & Maritimes Corp. shareholders have settled a class action protesting the merger of the company with a subsidiary of energy and services firm Emera Inc.

Judge John Woodcock Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine approved the plaintiffs' motion to dismiss Wednesday following the Sept. 23 approval of a settlement in a parallel state court action, which also released claims against Emera subsidiary BHE Holdings Inc., MAM, and its directors and officers including CEO Brent Boyles, Robert Anderson, Michael Caron, D....
