Ex-MoFo Partner, Prudential Ordered To Settlement Table

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 4:22 PM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has told lawyers for a former Morrison & Foerster LLP partner and the firm's employee welfare benefits plan, run by Prudential Insurance Co. of America, to appear at a conference to try and hammer out a settlement in his Employee Retirement Income Security Act suit claiming the plan improperly denied long-term disability payments.

Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero told the litigants' attorneys to meet with him on Nov. 17 and instructed them to be "candid" about their likelihood of winning the case, according...
