Governor Seeks Review Of Energy Ownership Rights

Law360, New York (March 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The governor of West Virginia has reported calling for the state to clarify its laws governing gas and oil ownership rights in light of a $404 million verdict in a class action that alleged a gas company underpaid royalties and fixed prices.

Gov. Joe Manchin said Thursday that with no proposals emerging from the ongoing regular session, which ends at midnight on Saturday, he hopes to call a special legislative session later this year to address the issues surrounding the verdict, the Associated Press reported....
