NSK Loses Bid For Injunctions In Zeroing Challenges

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 6:17 PM EDT) -- A federal trade judge has turned down NSK Ltd.'s requests for preliminary injunctions in two lawsuits over the controversial practice of zeroing, saying the Japanese ball bearing maker is not likely to win its cases.

Though decisions by North American Free Trade Agreement panels and the World Trade Organization have called zeroing into question, actions by those bodies are not binding on the U.S. Court of International Trade, Judge Timothy C. Stanceu said in essentially identical orders issued in related cases Friday.
