GNC, Others Accused Of Selling Mislabeled Supplements

Law360, New York (October 19, 2010, 12:53 PM EDT) -- The maker of a bodybuilding supplement has filed suit against rival Nutrex Research Inc. and retailers including General Nutrition Centers Inc. and Vitamin Shoppe Inc., claiming they are marketing and selling a supplement that purports to contain a proprietary molecule, when it actually does not.

The plaintiff, Advanced Oral Technologies LLC, filed the suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, alleging violations of the Lanham Act and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, among other federal and state statutes....
