Fired Ex-Baker Atty's Psych Records Shielded In Suit

Law360, New York (October 19, 2010, 5:09 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to force an ex-Baker & McKenzie LLP associate to turn over his mental health records in a suit claiming the firm fired him after he went on medical leave for a degenerative spinal disease.

Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Cole of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on Monday rejected Baker's motion to compel former firm associate David Kronenberg's records, saying they are shielded by psychotherapist-patient privilege.
