WaMu Disclosure Statement OK'd Over Objections

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 4:32 PM EDT) -- A bankruptcy judge approved Washington Mutual Inc.’s disclosure statement Monday over the objections of the U.S. trustee and other parties who favored delaying creditor votes on WaMu’s Chapter 11 plan until after the release of an examiner’s report on a pivotal settlement in the case.

Judge Mary F. Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware signed off on the disclosure, agreeing with the debtor that proceeding now would save time and expense and that creditors would have access to the examiner’s report...
