Sept. Mine Safety Inspections Yield Over 550 Violations

Law360, New York (October 20, 2010, 7:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has announced that federal mine safety inspectors issued over 550 citations and orders during special impact inspections at 30 mines in September, the latest crop of violations to come out of an aggressive enforcement strategy launched after an explosion killed 29 West Virginia miners in April.
